The TheraSuit™ is a soft proprioceptive, dynamic orthoses consisting of a cap, vest, shorts, kneepads, and shoe attachments that are connected to each other through a system of elastic bands. It is through the use of these elastic bands that an individual’s body is aligned as close to normal as possible. It is through this alignment and restoration of function in postural muscles that a patient can learn proper patterns of movement.

The TheraSuit™ facilitates external stabilization of the trunk allowing for more coordinated movements in both upper and lower extremities. It is the ability of the TheraSuit™ to provide “dynamic correction” of atypical movements that makes it truly unique. It is not the TheraSuit™ which actually performs the movement for the individual. It is instead the TheraSuit™ which provides guidance and assistance in training the nervous system and preparing the body to initiate normal movement.
